Danio Leopard, also known as Danio rerio, is a small freshwater fish that is native to South Asia. It is a popular species in the aquarium trade due to its striking appearance and active nature. The body of the Danio Leopard is silver with blue horizontal stripes that run from the gills to the tail. In addition, it has spots that are gold or orange in color. This fish is easy to care for and can thrive in a wide range of water conditions, making it a great choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Feeding

Danio Leopards are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods. In the wild, they primarily feed on insects, crustaceans, and small fish. In an aquarium setting, they can be fed a diet of high-quality flake or pellet food, as well as live or frozen food such as bloodworms and brine shrimp.

Special Requirements

Danio Leopards are hardy fish that can adapt to a wide range of water conditions. However, they do best in water that is slightly acidic to neutral (pH 6.5-7.5) and has a temperature between 72-75°F (22-24°C). It is important to provide them with a well-filtered aquarium and plenty of hiding places such as plants, rocks, and caves.

Ideal Aquarium Size

Danio Leopards are active swimmers and require plenty of swimming space. They can be kept in a minimum tank size of 20 liters, but a larger tank is recommended to provide more swimming space and to accommodate a school of fish.

Temperament

Danio Leopards are peaceful and social fish that do well in a community aquarium. They should be kept in groups of at least 6 individuals to ensure that they feel comfortable and display their natural behavior.

Adult size

Danio Leopards grow to an average length of 4-5 cm (1.5-2 inches).

PH Range

The ideal pH range for Danio Leopards is between 6.5-7.5.
